Walking football team need Goalie

Hawks Academy photoThe Havant and Waterlooville Walking Football side are looking for a Over 60 goalkeeper for the walking football side for the upcoming season. Due to injury and retirements the side have been forced to use outfields players to go in goal to no avail. Those that would like to take part should contact Shaun Gale or turn up at one of the training sessions at South Downs College on Mondays and Thursday’s.

Below is the full statement put on the club forum:

“Your friendly Many Shades of Grey, the Hawks’ famous Walking Football team need an old goalkeeper.
Following our original first-choice goalkeeper retiring from competitive events, then our next first-choice goalkeeper suffering a stroke and being advised to keep his head out of harm’s way by his specialist, we are short of an experienced and enthusiastic goalkeeper for our 60+ side.
We have a keeper for our 50+ side (thanks John), but when we enter 55+, or 60+ competitions, we now have to put a volunteer outfield player in goal.
And we’re not very good at it.

If you fit the bill, give Shaun Gale a tinkle on 02392 787822, or just turn up and play at one of our training sessions at South Downs College, 10.45 – 12.00 Mondays and Thursdays. You’ll be made very welcome.”
